We have designed this 3-day tour so you can discover all the Rioja wine styles (from traditional to modern), all types of architectures (from 16th century underground cellars to incredible 21st avant-garde structures) and different winery sizes (from 20,000 bottles a year to +7 million).
In this tour you will get to know the 3 sub regions of Rioja: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental so you can understand how the different styles of soils, geographical influences and altitudes offer completely different wine profiles. From the famous Tempranillo grapes to the Viura, Granache, Graciano or Mazuelo you will experience the brand range of Rioja´s wines.

Day 1: Traditional Rioja Wineries. Rioja Alta, Haro & Michelin Starred Restaurant
On day one we will visit the Rioja Alta wine region which has one of the greatest concentration of 80+ year old vineyards in the world. It´s not a surprise that this region gathers the majority of the century cellars of Rioja. Discover the magical city of Haro, the capital of Rioja Alta. Surrounded by wineries and founded in the 13th century and possessing all the secrets to making the most selected Rioja Wines.

Visit two centenary wineries in the beautiful "Train Station" neighbourhood of Haro. In this region the Riojas are following the traditional method of Rioja wine making. Using long ageing techniques offering light Rioja wines (we called them Vino Fino). In this region you will find the majority of Riojas Reservas and Grandes Reservas.

For lunch you will enjoy a tasting menu-lunch in a top rated Micehlin starred restaurant at the heart of Haro.​

We will visit Haro and Briones, a small little village regarded as one of the most beautiful places of Spain. From this town we will have the best views of the Ebro river on its way through the Rioja vineyards.
Day 2: Modern Style Wineries.
Rioja Alavesa & Laguardia
On day 2 we will visit the stunning modern Rioja Alavesa wine region where the majority of the boutique family-owned bodegas are located and the impressive architectural wineries. Limestone soils and high altitude vineyards producing wines with an incredible reputation. ​In this area you will discover the new modern style of Rioja where the wines are vibrant, with high acidity and where the use of oak is minimal so the focus is in the quality of the fruit.

Introduction and exploration of the medieval town of Laguardia, one of the most beautiful places in Rioja Alavesa with its fortified wall, narrow cobbled streets and vineyards and mountain views. You will see why it’s known as one of the most stunning towns in all of Spain.
Day 3: Rioja as Its Best.

Day three of our Rioja Private Tour you will visit 2/3 family owned wineries and you will discover their wines and vineyards by the hand of the owners/winemakers. Now it is time to talk to the people behind each bottle of wine and really immerse in how Rioja wineries have been passed from generation to generation.

Lunch will be served by one of the family wineries so you can have a super special meal, chat with the owners and enjoy a little bit of the real Rioja life.
